Pens, Type, & Pixels
It all started with cave paintings, but the problem with cave paintings is one can’t fold it up, stick it in an envelope and mail it to a friend—without a lot of postage and some heavy earth moving equipment. The representation of ideas and objects with two dimensional symbols has been an interest of mine all my life. This section is concerned with three forms of alphabetic expression:
- Writing: Making hand shaped symbols on various surfaces.
- Printing: Using pre-formed type to make multiple images.
- Digital: Printing using computers.
Of a necessity, there is some bleed over into pictures and words.
