The Cat Food Observation or the Law of Bias
All ideas are biased.
The original observation was that cat food came with labels like “Kitty Stew” and “Fisherman’s Delight”. Cats eat “Crunchy Songbird” and “Select Mole Parts”. The point being is that cat food is not made for the cat, but for people to give to cats. Even with the best of intentions cat food made and marketed by and for humans. Now this is not necessarily a negative. Cats live about three times as long eating cat food than they do living in the wild. However, the principle is there. All information is biased, for good or ill, by the experiences and knowledge of both the source and the receiver.
