Eye of the Beholder

There are no patterns in the clouds--
no fluffy ducks, no raging dragons,
no dancing dolphins nor castles in the air.

There are no patterns in the clouds--
just water vapor and twists of wind,
just dancing currents from here and there.

There are no patterns in the clouds--
but in the mind, shapes take form,
conjured meanings from the heart.

There are no patterns in the clouds,
unless viewed by human eyes
that perceive the climate’s art.

Without the mind’s experienced stare,
without the soul’s poetic art…
there are no patterns in the clouds.
